Copenhagen is the capital and the most populous city of Denmark, and as such, is packed with lots of historic landmarks and attractions, including Kronborg Palace (probably, the most famous Danish palace because of Shakespeare’s Hamlet), The Little Mermaid (which is indisputably, the most renowned attraction of this city), and the Tivoli Gardens (an amusement park and pleasure garden) among others. However, this city has much more to offer than historic buildings, museums and royal palaces.

Copenhagen will surprise you with Christiania, a green and car-free neighbourhood that gives a completely different approach to “freedom”. This unconventional neighbourhood was established in the 70’s by a group of hippies who occupied some abandoned military barracks on the site and developed their own set of society rules, completely independent of the Danish government. Copenhagen will amaze you with its cosy atmosphere and its delicate Nordic cuisine.
